The cover of Night Radio's fifth album, "Queen of the Bees", gives a clue as to the contents.
The sunny, honey coloured visage reflects how close to actual "pop" the band has hovered this time around.
Optimism abounds in almost every track, with sing along choruses and the redeeming power of love a recurring theme.
Of course, no Night Radio release would be complete without a few shadows, so Haunted Trees and Gondola Song are at first listen the dark partners on the album...however, even these tracks reveal a brightness under the muted tones.
Recorded at Judyth's cottage at The Orchard, as was 2007's "Backroads", "Queen of the Bees" is a rewarding listen, and quite possibly Night Radio's most complete offering yet!
